Coffee Break

Wearing: One Teaspoon Shorts | Zara Blouse | Vintage Boots

I'm getting the feeling that shorts season is pretty much coming to an end. So to all the shorts sitting in my closet, don't cry, I'll be with you again soon enough. It's been a great summer with all of you denim cutoffs, high waisted man-repellers, silky boxers, and leather dipers. Ok stop - maybe this is a bit premature - but either way I would like to share with you my all time favorite denim shorts brand, One Teaspoon.

Casual Monday

Wearing: DIY Shirt (cutouts) | Urban Outfitter Shorts | Sperry Shoes

A ton of errands on a Monday morning calls for casual comfort at it's best. You won't ever see me attending an event in my favorite Sperry boat shoes, but catch me on the street when I'm off the clock and 99% of the time these guys will be helping me get around in comfort. Everyone should own a pair - obviously metallic gold were the pair for me.

Bang!

Wearing: Wildfox Tee | Vintage Levi Shorts - Similar | Converse

Wildfox, vintage cut-offs, an NYC rooftop, and a worn out pair of kicks.. now that's my kind of look. In other news, I hope you guys are ready because I have officially finished redesigning my blog and can't wait to share it with you! It should be up by the end of this week, if not sooner. Stay tuned!

Shady Snakes

Wearing: Topshop Tank | Pixie Market Shorts | Vintage Guess Boots | Vintage Sunnies | Alexander McQueen Bangle | Casio Watch

I feel like a badass (fashionable) soldier today in this outfit and definitely acted like one too. My version of a soldier today was hunting through a sea of vintage and claiming the best pieces over other reckless shoppers at Beacon's Closet. I'm working on a really cool video/outfit post for you guys from my adventures today at my favorite vintage store. Stay tuned!

Who Wears Short Shorts?

Wearing: One Teaspoon Shorts | Urban Outfitters Tee | Vintage Vest - Similar

We wear short shorts- in the summer, in the winter, with tights, and with boots.. We wear them embellished with studs, ripped and destroyed, acid-washed, and bleached just the right amount. Denim shorts have been around, well, for a long time, and have evolved with us and because of us. They've gone from high-wasted, to low-cut, and back to high-wasted. Different washes and ways to destroy these shorts while still being very wearable have been created to make jean shorts a staple in fashion. We don't expect everyone to understand the "destroyed phenomenon", and it's definitely hard to explain why we love to wear only the most beat-up and washed-out looking denim to our elders. But, when worn with the right outfit, a pair of these shorts can look edgy and fashionable. They can create that perfect rocker look, indy vibe, or 70's style.

My go to denim brand is hands down the Australian rebells One Teaspoon. Get yourself a great pair, it's a must.

Come hang on Wednesday from 6-10pm and shop with me - maybe even get invited to our exclusive after party too! Remember, there's only ONE of everything!

Cat Eyes

Wearing: Topshop Shorts - Similar | Necessary Clothing Top - Similar | H&M Clutch | Shop Jeen Sunnies

Can't get enough of these of cat-eyed sunnies I picked up from Shop Jeen showroom the other day. So what if I kind of look like I'm from space or get weird looks in the street? I like em. Check out Shop Jeen for more affordable and adorable sunnies along with some pretty sick jewelry/accessories. I'm off to Denver, Colorado tomorrow for the BarIII flea tour round 3 (yeah that rhymed). Come see me if you happen to live there.

BarIII At The Flea - LA

Wearing: BarIII Blouse | Betsey Johnson Shorts | H&M Jacket | Topshop Oxfords

Round two of the BarIII Flea Market Tour lead us across the coast to L.A. Nestled between scenic mountainsides, the outdoor Rose Bowl Flea Market was a little slice of vintage heaven filled with shoppers showing off their eclectic sartorial tastes. The flea featured tons of vendors selling all sorts of treasures - vintage clothing, antique furnishings, and even '70s-era metal lunch boxes. I got to bond with awesome bloggers Sincerely Jules and L.A. Fashion Snob at the BarIII tent, and took my "lunch break" to do a little (well, a lot) of vintage shopping. The result: denim cut-offs, a floral romper, a vintage YSL blazer, a denim bomber jacket, and some weathered rocker tees. While in town, I made sure to stop by L.A. hotspot Katsuya for a bite to eat, and ended my night at the Mondrian SkyBar to see my girl DJ Lindsay Luv spin for a stylish crowd. As much as I loved my trip to the West Coast, I'm definitely ready to come home to the city that never sleeps. Next stop, Chicago!

Love Me, tag

Wearing: Big Star Shorts | BDG Shirt | Vintage Sweater - Similar | Keds Shoes

Back in the city that never sleeps and I couldn't be happier. Don't get me wrong, I love to travel.. but there's something about NYC that I just can't get enough of. The street art (that some people call graffiti) is hidden the most random places that always catch you as a nice surprise. I walked by this awesome skull piece in a Soho construction site and became so curious about the small "Love Me" plastered to the post next to it. I soon discovered that this was no random tag, but one of Curtis Kulig - the artist behind the ambiguous, mixed-message "Love Me" tags seen all over the city.
