Face Time

Ah, good ol' Tribeca and one of my favorite neighborhoods in NYC. It's built for young families, is the ideal blogging location, and it's where I am dying to live. Anyway, my outfit today consists of 3 new arrivals - the perfect white tank (because of the skull cut-out, duh), the perfect black summer sandals, and a really awesome unique SOLD OUT neon jelly bag! I just went to check on Nastygal for you guys and this bag is no where to be found. Guess I was one of the lucky ones... Happy Monday!

InstaWeek

My week on Instagram included a ton of vintage and retro sunnies (as usual), some bling from YaYa Publicity, flatform oxfords, Miike Snow, 70's inspired fashion, beanies, spikes, and well - me! I've been away all weekend for my brother graduation at Michigan University so I apologize for no weekend outfit posts. Stay tuned though because I have some awesome features coming up this next week!

Today I went to YaYa Publicity's showroom and fell in love with so many of the brands they represent. Ettika jewelry and Spitfire were two of my favorites that you can see in this post, and I'll be blogging about more when I receive the items. ALSO, stay tuned for a giveaway coming soon for some really awesome pieces. It's going to be a good one.

Creeper Clones

Wearing: Boutique Shoes - Similar | Work Custom Pants | Free People Shirt | Vintage Blazer - Similar
If you're confused by the title of this post, that's okay. In Spring of 2011, Prada released their uber-flatform cork oxford, the "creeper" that quickly went from runway to store to SOLD OUT in a matter of days. Some hate them and some can't get enough. When I came across this look-alike the other day I felt the need to take them for a spin. So here's my take on the creeper... kinda cool, right? If you can afford to splurge a little, here's the Prada versions I would get:

Prada Platform Oxford (first, second, third)

So I did my research and here they are - the creeper CLONE for $50.00 from Tobi

Backwards Fashion

If you haven't had your eyes closed lately, you've seen an interesting trend taking over the fashion industry. We're all familiar with the "racer back" style, seen in everything from tank tops to swimsuits. Only the most inventive of designers would think to flip this - introducing the newest form of backwards fashion, the racer-front. I personally love this style because it enhances the assets and creates the perfect canvas to set an awesome bib necklace or collar. It's kind of a sexy take on the muscle tee. Warning to all those who are well endowed in the chest area, you might not be able to pull this look off. The tank I'm wearing here is from H&M and also comes in a heather grey. Both are available in stores now...

Alexander Wang (of course) offers some awesome options for this racer-front tank trend.

That 70's Show

Wearing: Zara Top | Genetic Denim Jeans |  Bacio 61 WedgesToday I was inspired by non other than, the 70s. I know I don't need to explain why the decade was so amazing in a fashion sense, but some of my favorite trends have come from that time. The 70s were free, colorful, and full of life. When I bought these jeans from Intermix I immediately pictured a hippie and a very colorful blouse. A year later I came across this silky top from Zara and then came this outfit. By the way - Genetic Denim is one of the softest denim brands out there, so if you look for comfort in your jeans, definitely try them out.

Smart Pants

Wearing 1: Boutique Pants | Zara Blazer | Deena&Ozzy Oxfords | ASOS Spine Necklace
Wearing 2: Boutique Pants | BDG Shirt | Dolce Vita Loafers | Bond Hardware Collar

I heart my smart pants. Smart - because of their versatility, comfort, sophistication and on-trend ways. Who knew the pajama pant trend would the hit fashion industry by storm? I guess we did. Their super lightweight which makes them perfect for the warmer weather, and can be worn in several different ways (like so). When I found these pants at a random West Village boutique I immediately pictured a structured white blazer, and someone from the 70s. Also the reason I decided to show you these pants in two different outfits... Because I love this style so much, I decided to share some of my favorites for your purchasing pleasure.

Howling Out | Make Stuff Party

Wearing: Zara Dress | Cambridge Satchel Bag | Converse | Brooklyn Charm Bullet NecklaceLast night I got crafty with a group of girls for a DIY "Make Stuff" party I hosted along with the fabulous Rebecca Zhou. We studded, wrapped, and tied knots in bolts to make two of our favorite DIY projects. It was so much doing these activities in a group setting, especially because we served wine and yummy snacks. Check out my DIY's below - I think I got the hang of it after a few tries... More pics to come soon (so here's a little preview). Big thanks to Grey Area Showroom for lending the space.
