Das Boot

Wearing: Helmut Lang Jacket | Vintage Dress - Similar | Urban Outfitters Beanie | Steve Madden Booties

Das boot, this boot, the boot. You remember, it started with the infamous Balenciaga buckle boot which we were all like "this is amazing but not worth over 1k." And as usual, brand after brand followed with their own versions and renditions of this burly bad-ass ankle boot. None of them caught my eye and I really didn't think the style seemed fitting. But, I happen to love this pair from Steve Madden (even with the chunk in the bottom half of the boot) - it still has a slimming width making it okay by me. So this is me taking a break from pointy toe heels and tapping into my East Village dweller self.

Saint Laurent

Wearing: YSL Shirt - look-a-like | Nom De Plume Skirt | Helmut Lang Jacket | Shop Jeen Sunnies | Blue&Cream Beanie | Theysken's Theory Booties - Similar

Due to the no-longer-in-existence classic YSL t shirt, I linked you guys to an Etsy vendor who probably just irons it on himself. But wait - shouldn't it just be a simple SL - or would then people confuse you for supporting one of NYC's pop mad bottles clubs SL. We wouldn't want that. Saint Laurent is still the classic but now more edgy brand we have always loved. I wonder, why do people choose to splurge on a Christian Louboutin pump just to show off the red sole? In my opinion, a class Saint Laurent pump (like so) is the trés chic way to go.

Shaggy Me

Wearing: Clover Canyon Pants | PinkyYotto Jacket (in stores on East 9th st) | Theyskens' Theory Booties - Similar | Urban Outfitters Sunnies

And she does it again! I can officially put another successful thrifting adventure on my belt - and walk home for Vintage Valley (what I like to call the East Village) with a smile. Hitting up one of my favorites yesterday, Tokio7, I discovered these amazing Theyskens' shoes I had coveted for quite some time now (and for a nice little discount too). Lucky me, they were my size {duh}. I was thinking though, if I didn't ALWAYS (and I mean always) have the best luck with vintage/thrift shopping, maybe I wouldn't love it as much. My friends never really loved it until the day I took them out with me... Who's next?

ACNE Free

Wearing: Topshop Sweater | BLK DNM Jeans | ACNE Free Boots | Urban Outfitters Beanie | Shop Lumo Rings

What did you think - I was doing a post on how I literally became acne free from a revolutionary new product? Fortunately for me, I've never had an issue with that other kind of acne. In my world - ACNE - is that put on a pedestal and on every wish list brand most girls save up for (including me). The result, my new perfect everyday booties I've been lusting over ever since I went to Stockholm in August.

Puddle Jumping

Wearing: Uniqlo Pants | Joes Jeans Shirt | Urban Renewal Vest | YSL Shoes

In the spirit of puddle jumping (whatever that means) I bring you some plaidspiration. I couldn't believe these UNIQLO pants were only $20, and had clearly been searching for the perfect pair of plaid pants in all the wrong places (thanks Serena). I've also been lusting over long silhouettes lately, like this simple black vest that adds just the right hight to any outfit.

New Normal

Wearing: Honey Punch Dress (co StyleGodis) | Ash Wedge Booties - Similar | Urban Outfitters Beanie | Alexa Leigh Star Bracelet (co) | Giles & Brother Railroad Cuff

Just because it's cold outside, doesn't mean you can't wear a dress. And, just because you wear a dress doesn't mean it has to look girly. I'm all about changing the expected norm in fashion - and creating a look that people respond to as "wow I would not have thought to put that together."

Empire State

Wearing: Vince Sweatshirt | Necessary Clothing Pants | Urban Outfitters Beanie

Everything seems to be back on track in NYC today, but we can't forget our neighbors in Staten Island, Queens, and NJ who were devastated by Sandy - and there's still so many ways to help. So even though I'm not one to wear sequins, dressing something down and going for that casual-chic (as cliché as that sounds) look is always a good personal challenge. I found these awesome pants while I was styling a photo shoot the other week and knew right away exactly what to do with them. Kicks, a sweater, and beanie of course. Can we also just notice how awesome the second pic in this post is... should it be my next header?!

In other news - I'm hosting an event this Thursday and I hope you guys can make it!! Details above...

Playing Photographer

Wearing: Urban Outfitters Romper | Zara Bomber Jacket | Sam Edelman Booties (gifted)

Boy was I happy to be in flat shoes today - these arched babies really needed a rest. It's a funny thing, how my trip to Stockholm not only brought me back to my street style photography roots, but made me really enjoy wearing heels (which is not something I usually did). All throughout fashion week I rocked pointy toe stilettos and high heeled booties, with a smile on my face. Today however, I photographed a few looks for one of my best friends and the most amazing singer I know - Michelle Raitzin. Keep an eye out on this one guys, she's going places.

Graphics Anonymous

Wearing: Urban Outfitters Tee | TWT Skirt - Similar | Dolce Vita Loafers | ASOS Bag

Someone admit me into Graphics Anonymous, because I'm addicted. If you ever happen to catch me in party mode on a night out, you bet I'll be rocking a graphic muscle tank with either leather shorts or denim cut offs. Brands like Unif (featured below), Chasers, Wildfox, and Truly Madly Deeply (at UO), offer a pretty unbelievable selection of different types of tanks and tees. Whether they're making a statement or displaying a piece of art, graphics can add that extra edge that we always talk about. Here are some of my recent favs...

Casual Monday

Wearing: DIY Shirt (cutouts) | Urban Outfitter Shorts | Sperry Shoes

A ton of errands on a Monday morning calls for casual comfort at it's best. You won't ever see me attending an event in my favorite Sperry boat shoes, but catch me on the street when I'm off the clock and 99% of the time these guys will be helping me get around in comfort. Everyone should own a pair - obviously metallic gold were the pair for me.
