New Beginnings
Wearing: Aritzia Silk Sweatshirt | Front Row Shop Pants | H&M Shoes (in stores) - Similar | All Saints Beanie
I wonder what 2013 is supposed to feel like... it's officially a new year which should mean new beginnings and some big changes. I hope everyone had an amazing New Years Eve (I know I did). And if you missed it on Instagram, I was sporting some it's New Years so I have an excuse to wear sequin pants - found here. I'm so excited for what's to come in 2013 - I know it's gonna be a good one for We Wore What. 2013, let's begin.

I have the coolest story to tell you guys. So yesterday, I was sorting through curated vintage items and trying them on at the Reformation. While wearing this crazy coat, I reached into the pocket (to pose for a pic of course) and ended up finding something amazing... a Back To The Future movie ticket from 1989! There were two tickets in mint condition, not to mention the cost of a movie then was $3.50. So wild, I couldn't believe it. This is just one of the reasons I love vintage so much - I can't even imagine the story behind the person wearing that crazy cool jacket and going to see the movie in it. Here it is:
In other news: about my hair, I went to Arrojo the other day and vamped up my ombre a little to get a more dramatic look. I'm actually thinking of going dark this winter, which a oxblood ombre since it is the "it" color this season. Hopefully I'll be daring enough to go through with it. Always love a drastic change!

Ah I'm feeling really sick today, must be seasonal colds.. but either way it's too much to write more on this post or take more pics for the next few days. Hopefully I'll have new outfits for you guys when I'm feeling better soon! How great are these Rachel Roy shoes, I'm actually obsessed to the point where I let them give me blisters on the first wear (and then just wore them again and again). They're perfect for Fall!

Under Construction
Super excited for tonight because I'm heading to dinner with Nicole Miller herself (along with some of my favorite blogger buds)! I stopped by the NM showroom earlier this week and picked up this really great leather sleeved white denim jacket. Sticking to the black & white theme, I paired the jacket with my new open back dress from Nasty Gal and even newer Cheap Monday booties. How amazing are these shoes - they kind of remind me of something Acne would make - then again, maybe it's because they're both Swedish. DUH. If you like these booties and your a size 9, buy these!

Kid Walker
Counting down the hours til my flight on Friday night to Stockholm - woot woot. So I've randomly been running around this city in my overalls lately. To showroom visits, coffee meetings, and to Trader Joe's.. I've looked to my overalls for comfort and ease. The last time I wore these babies were over a month ago, so I think us reuniting has got me hooked. The mack daddy of overalls however, are these Stella McCartney bad boys (here) as seen on Alexa Chung and Man Repeller (now 60% off)!

RIGHT NOW
I'm currently craving the following trends, and not because the September Issue {Vogue} told me to, but because I'm dying to rock these trends on my coming ventures. Want to know what's coming up for We Wore What?! STOCKHOLM baby. This morning I found out that I won the Videofymyfashion contest - which means I get to go to MBFW in Stockholm, Sweden next week! Get ready for some amazing travel pics guys! Thank you so much to everyone who helped vote me into the top 10, and thank you even more to the amazing panel of judges who are sending me on this incredible trip!

Coffee Break
I'm getting the feeling that shorts season is pretty much coming to an end. So to all the shorts sitting in my closet, don't cry, I'll be with you again soon enough. It's been a great summer with all of you denim cutoffs, high waisted man-repellers, silky boxers, and leather dipers. Ok stop - maybe this is a bit premature - but either way I would like to share with you my all time favorite denim shorts brand, One Teaspoon.

Looking At You
I'm looking at you - from behind. Not in a scary way, but in a "how rad is my skull cutout top from Zara way" of course. I brought back what happens to be one of my favorite muscle tanks after realizing this post from way back when, was one of my most viewed posts ever! Clearly you guys have a thing for shirts that stare you down when you're tailgating my tush, weirdos.

Bang!
Wildfox, vintage cut-offs, an NYC rooftop, and a worn out pair of kicks.. now that's my kind of look. In other news, I hope you guys are ready because I have officially finished redesigning my blog and can't wait to share it with you! It should be up by the end of this week, if not sooner. Stay tuned!

Dip Dye DIY
Wearing: DIY Bleached Denim Shorts and Top - get the look here and here
So I'm no DIY master like my girl Jenni of ISPYDIY, but here goes my little experiment. The rules - simply take a denim button down and and a pair of jeans, and dip them into a bucket of bleach. DUH. But in all seriousness, wear gloves and gently wash the clothing by hand.

Who Wears Short Shorts?
We wear short shorts- in the summer, in the winter, with tights, and with boots.. We wear them embellished with studs, ripped and destroyed, acid-washed, and bleached just the right amount. Denim shorts have been around, well, for a long time, and have evolved with us and because of us. They've gone from high-wasted, to low-cut, and back to high-wasted. Different washes and ways to destroy these shorts while still being very wearable have been created to make jean shorts a staple in fashion. We don't expect everyone to understand the "destroyed phenomenon", and it's definitely hard to explain why we love to wear only the most beat-up and washed-out looking denim to our elders. But, when worn with the right outfit, a pair of these shorts can look edgy and fashionable. They can create that perfect rocker look, indy vibe, or 70's style.
My go to denim brand is hands down the Australian rebells One Teaspoon. Get yourself a great pair, it's a must.
