Tibi Tribute

Wearing: Tibi Suit (resort collection) | Steve Madden Heels | Prada Sunnies

Elevated. This is the word that not only my manager abuses, but is perfect to describe what Amy Smilovic has done to Tibi's Fall13 collection. Boxy neoprene sweatshirts, turtleneck dickeys {giggle like an 8 year old boy}, pony-hair pullovers, and long leather shorts were the functional pieces that graced the runway this season. Not to mention the thigh high leather boots that brought sexy back to utilitarian sportswear. I was lucky enough to head backstage before the show, chat with Amy, and sport an incredible suit from her resort collection. Can't wait to work with the adorable ladies behind Tibi more soon. For now, check out some of my favorite looks...

Shell Back

Wearing: Front Row Shop Jacket (c/o) | James Jeans | Steve Madden Heels (c/o)

I've been working with Steve Madden lately on a pretty cool fashion week project that features ways to wear some of my favorite shoes from their site. So here's the first one - nude pointy toe pumps worn with boyfriend jeans and bomber jacket. I'm loving this new bomber jacket that Front Row Shop sent me for it's turtle like shell, in the best way you could possibly interpret that. Remember the movie Master of Disguise? Enough said.

Das Boot

Wearing: Helmut Lang Jacket | Vintage Dress - Similar | Urban Outfitters Beanie | Steve Madden Booties

Das boot, this boot, the boot. You remember, it started with the infamous Balenciaga buckle boot which we were all like "this is amazing but not worth over 1k." And as usual, brand after brand followed with their own versions and renditions of this burly bad-ass ankle boot. None of them caught my eye and I really didn't think the style seemed fitting. But, I happen to love this pair from Steve Madden (even with the chunk in the bottom half of the boot) - it still has a slimming width making it okay by me. So this is me taking a break from pointy toe heels and tapping into my East Village dweller self.

Spitfire

Wearing: H&M Dress (in stores) | PinkyYotto Jacket | Steve Madden Boots | Ettika Jewelry | Spitfire Sunnies

Today I went to YaYa Publicity's showroom and fell in love with so many of the brands they represent. Ettika jewelry and Spitfire were two of my favorites that you can see in this post, and I'll be blogging about more when I receive the items. ALSO, stay tuned for a giveaway coming soon for some really awesome pieces. It's going to be a good one.
