Print Dressing

Wearing: Clover Canyon Suit | ACNE Boots | Jennifer Zeuner SnakeVertical Bar, Nameplate | Movado Watch

Although I'd consider my style mainly minimalistic and pretty neutral (color-wise), I love a printed suit just as much as the next girl. So of course when Clover Canyon invited me to wear something from their newest collection to their fashion week presentation, I was in. The combination of black and white with hints of color in this print is more than I could have ever dreamt up.

Day One

Wearing: Jonathan Simkhai Skirt c/o American Two Shot | Tibi Crop Long Sleeve (coming soon) | Prada Sunnies | Ash Wedges | 3.1 Phillip Lim Bag

Okay, so day one of fashion is officially over, and so are my toes. Man oh man I forgot what it was like to walk in heels literally all day (rather than for a quick outfit post). By 10am this morning I found myself in the front row of the BCBG Maxazria fashion show, I'd say that's a good start. The show was everything I hoped it would be, from street chic leather and fur pieces to grunge silhouettes it was perfection in a catwalk. Did I mention almost every model was wearing a beanie!? After a few presentations and shows in-between I ended with the Sachin & Babi runway show in Meatpacking. There was a changing of the tops/beanie/sunnies at some point during this crazy long first day of New York fashion week. NEXT...

Fashion Week Survival

Fashion Week Survival: hmm

Three wise women once said "I'm a survivor. I'm gonna make it. I will survive. Keep on survivin." Still don't know? They just sort of performed at the Superbowl... {cough Destiny's Child cough}. To survive the most stressful yet exciting time of the year in the fashion world, a few things are of crucial importance. First and probably most imperative, the bag. In my case - it's the 3.1 Phillip Lim Satchel I bought myself a few weeks ago. This will change throughout the week so an eye popping clutch and so on, but you know what I mean. What would fashion week be without a leather baseball cap (this one's from ASOS), crossing my fingers everyone else leaves theres at home. A pair of classic but oh-so-cool pumps (Alexander Wang) and then sneakers (Lanvin) for when you get blisters (guaranteed) and are running in-between shows. Long days lead to oily faces, no ones perfect guys - bring in the oil absorbing sheets. Why Perrier you may ask? Because water just doesn't cut it when your in need of a good ole thirst quencher. Though now that I think of it, there's always a beverage sponsor at Lincoln Center so maybe I'll leave this one at home. I don't even want to think about the number of people I'll be bumping into and saying hi to at the shows, so clean smelling breath is a must...hello new best friend (Take 5 gum). Karen Walker sunnies, duh. Camera, double duh. Bright red Tibi suit, hell yes (I'll be wearing this to the Tibi show). Good luck to all, mainly me.

New York Fashion Week {day 2}

Follow my blog with Bloglovin
Wearing: Marimekko Dress | Zara Booties | Rebecca Minkoff Bag

On the streets from Day 2 NYFW featured a balloon like floral splattered dress from Marimekko. It was a glorious day (though rather hot, actually really really hot), at the tents from Lincoln Center where some of my favorite designers were showing.

Exhibit A - W118 by Walter Baker - a personal favorite of mine, and designer I am proud to support through and through.

Exhibit B - Rebecca Minkoff - hands down my favorite collection thus far.

New York Fashion Week {day 1}

Wearing: F21 Shirt (Givenchy esqué) | ASOS Leather Skirt | Zara Heels

{Panting} Oy, time is something I haven't seen in days. I've been running around for fashion week and loving every second of it, but it things have been a bit crazy. Last night was FNO, and a successful one at that. I started my night off at Macy's for a Walter Baker event I was hosting, and then skipped over to the Helmut Lang store in Soho for some drinks and fun. After that we danced over to RSVP for a Socialyte event and some food (finally). AND then, I said hi to friends at the Soho Grand Hotel for an event hosted by Aimee of SongofStyle and BryanBoy. LASTLY, but definitely not least, my girls and I celebrated a very late FNO at MisterH! Phew, I'm tired from just writing that - see below for pics from last night! Pics from my Iphone, excuse the quality.

Rainy Fashion Week

Wearing: Zara Pants | Chaser Tee | Blank Denim Jacket (from Lulus) | Zara Booties

This rain really isn't going away, is it? A fashion goers worst nightmare is rain during fashion week. It's definitely not an excuse to dress down to the shows, but it does make it rather annoying. Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow, it's almost time for those beautiful big white tents to open their doors. I'll be posting every other day with my outfits and shenanigans.

Stockholm Shoesday

Hello new friends {speaking to inanimate objects}. Meet two pairs of my favorite new shoes from this week in Stockholm - Cheap Monday Wedge Booties and Zara Ankle Boots. I'm flying home today and it's very bittersweet, but boy am I pumped to sleep in my ridiculously comfy bed tonight. There's nothing like coming home to the yellow cabs, busy streets, angry apartment supers, and my city that never sleeps. I'm coming for ya, NYC.

MBFW Stockholm Day 2

Wearing: BIKBOK Sweatshirt (Balenciaga look-a-like) | Vintage Leather Pants

Stockholm, I never want to leave you. Day 2 of MBFW was as glamorous as the day before, and the day before that. One of my favorite parts of this trip to Sweden is that I came here only knowing one person - and now, everywhere I go I say hi to at least a dozen familiar faces and friends. The highlight of my day was being photographed by one of my inspirations, Caroline and her partner of Stockholm Streetstyle. I'm so looking forward to the Cheap Monday runway show tonight followed a circus themed Sound Industry party! Follow my instagram for instant updates @weworewhat.
