Street Style'ing

How to: street style edition. With fashion week glaring from us around the corner, the pressure is on the capture the attention of the Tommy Tons and other notable camera lenses outside the tents. In this how to, I'd like to discuss the photograph ready street style walk. When prancing up the steps into the valley of street style photographers (outside Lincoln Center), one should chant in their head "boom boom boom boom..." This is totally replacing "strut strut..." because strut is just a little too sissy for my liking. I'm talking beat pounding fierce steps that scream confidence and you better photograph me as you walk by. I like to compare this attitude to the one when I was 17 and getting into clubs as if I belonged there. If you walk the walk...well, the rest will follow.

Ah slouchy leather pants, how I love thee. Before this look even became a trend, I'm proud to say I was ordering my leather pants in about 3 sizes too big (just to get this look). Now thanks to the likes of Vince, Phillip Lim, Mango, and H&M - you can get this look at any price. I paid Singer22 a visit while visiting my family at home over the weekend, and fell head over heels for these Vince slouchy leather pants, as well as this Iro jacket (and another others you'll see later this week). I know the pants seem to hurt your wallet a bit, but TRUST ME, they're worth it. CPW: Cost Per Wear people. 

Saint Laurent

Due to the no-longer-in-existence classic YSL t shirt, I linked you guys to an Etsy vendor who probably just irons it on himself. But wait - shouldn't it just be a simple SL - or would then people confuse you for supporting one of NYC's pop mad bottles clubs SL. We wouldn't want that. Saint Laurent is still the classic but now more edgy brand we have always loved. I wonder, why do people choose to splurge on a Christian Louboutin pump just to show off the red sole? In my opinion, a class Saint Laurent pump (like so) is the trés chic way to go. 

Dark Dressing

New arrival from H&M round 2 - mesh edition. So I was thinking, can goth be chic? When I put on this outfit to snap some pics, my photographer told me I looked...dark {gasp}. Now that's the last thing I was going for and ever thought I'd hear come out of someones mouth when describing my style. Obviously I don't always dress in all black, and maybe the netted top didn't help. However, dark dressing is the essence of NYC edge so let's just say it works.

The other day I was bopping in and out of my favorite East Village stores when I came across a new one that struck my attention with one of those tee's in the window that combined the Chanel logo and f****. That's where I found this guy, my new Céline Dion shirt {insert ironic giggle}. I kinda love it. It's also been pretty warm out in NYC lately (for winter) so I was glad to be able to wear my favorite leather jacket. Sorry for the lack of posts this week, I've been sick :/ As always, TGIF.

Canadian Tux

What did you think - I was doing a post on how I literally became acne free from a revolutionary new product? Fortunately for me, I've never had an issue with that other kind of acne. In my world - ACNE - is that put on a pedestal and on every wish list brand most girls save up for (including me). The result, my new perfect everyday booties I've been lusting over ever since I went to Stockholm in August. 

New Beginnings

I wonder what 2013 is supposed to feel like... it's officially a new year which should mean new beginnings and some big changes. I hope everyone had an amazing New Years Eve (I know I did). And if you missed it on Instagram, I was sporting some it's New Years so I have an excuse to wear sequin pants - found here. I'm so excited for what's to come in 2013 - I know it's gonna be a good one for We Wore What. 2013, let's begin. 

NY Bound

I'm about to leave my hotel room in Punta Cana for the airport, and a full day of traveling home to NYC. I've had the most incredible and relaxing vacation - but I'm definitely ready to come home to my favorite city in the world. Granted the snow and freezing cold weather will suck, my winter clothes miss me and I them... See you soon big apple!

Minimalistic

I'm laying in bed right now - slightly burnt and slightly damaged from last night's party/gambling in the Dominican Republic. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining - this has been incredible vacation and it will be hard to leave this perfect weather. By the way, I hear it's snowing in NY (hah). Max (my also burnt boyfriend) says hi too and wants you to know he's killing it at the casino. Here's another outfit post from before I left - I checked out Aritzia recently and I'm very impressed with.

The Yellow Beanie

Who needs a yellow submarine when you have a yellow beanie? Speaking of beanies, I'm currently in day 3 of my vacation in the Dominican Republic - where it's been 80 degrees and above everyday. So obviously it would be insane to wear a beanie here, right? I've been tapping into my inner girly self and been sporting my luscious locks in their natural way. I've also been wearing a ton of color and cutesy dresses - so unlike me! Funny story, last night at the casino I was stopped mid drink by an adorable Brazilian girl - who is actually one of my followers! So cool and random being noticed in another country (humbling moment for me).
